Raising Funds For A Northern Ireland Raptor Satellite Tagging Project!

I’ve been keeping an idea, a hope, a dream…under wraps for quite a while. If you’re a regular visitor to my blog, you will know how much I love our birds of prey.

Well, after much talking, waiting and negotiating; I am so proud to announce a very special project. If, like me, you care about justice, science, awareness, education and the health and preservation of our natural heritage, then I need your help.

I’m walking 45km of upland/mountain terrain to raise money to fund a raptor satellite tagging project here in Nortnern Ireland. I am really fed up with wildlife crime, apathy and lack of education about our raptors. If you would like to know more – the idea, the project and the amazing people who will be making this a reality – please visit my Crowdfunding page. I understand times are tough, so if you can’t donate, then I would really appreciate a share, a mention…some encouragement.

As the weeks go on, I will be giving out more information on persecution ‘hotspots’, statistics and what we plan to do. Obviously what we can achieve depends on how much we raise!

Thank you so much

Dara ????

  1. Excellent idea, I hope you get good weather for the walk.
The most common raptor round here is the Red Kite, I am always happy to see one. I, too, am concerned about the illegal killing of raptors.

  3. I couldn’t make it to the Hen Harrier Day this year but believe it was bigger and better than ever! I shall follow your posts and will be donating towards your project. Good luck!
